About Me

Julie WittmanThe basics

I am an energetic, creative professional with 12+ years of experience in nonprofit and government communications. Helping companies advance their mission and message is what I’m all about.

I can tackle a bit of everything — from writing and graphic design to strategic communication and website maintenance. I am skilled at juggling projects and delivering quality results, independently or with a team. I hold a degree in communication, and certifications in graphic design, public participation and facilitation.

Being incurably curious — about what things mean, how they came to be, and ways they could work better — reminds me to stay open to possibilities and consider communication challenges from more than one vantage point.

The extras

I officiated women’s lacrosse at the youth, high school and collegiate club levels for 10 years. Didn’t know we had lacrosse in Kansas City? Surprise. I can direct a crowd with a whistle and stay focused under pressure.

I’m also seriously hooked on crochet. Few things satisfy like crafting something by hand. Mastering a new crochet pattern requires patience and persistence. Both skills serve me well in the workplace.

And I cook. The more my hands smell like garlic, the better. Bringing a homemade lunch to work almost every day shows I know how to plan ahead. And the occasional office treat can’t be beat.
